Topiary Park

Just south of the Columbus Museum of Art is an astounding botanical masterpiece. The Topiary Park was completed in 1992, and was built on the old grounds of the Ohio School for the Deaf. As its name suggests, the main attraction in this urban park is a representation of George Seurat’s famous painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of La Grand Jatte”, painstakingly recreated in shrubberies. This living sculpture includes 54 human figures, along with boats, cats, and even a monkey! If that work of art is not enough for visitors, the park also includes a path lined with trees from around the world. Each tree is numbered, and a descriptive map is available for visitors to take a self-guided tour around the park.

The park is free, and metered parking spots can be found on all sides of the park.
