Columbus Museum of Art

The Columbus Museum of Art is the first art museum to register its charter with the state of Ohio. It was formed in 1878 and is located on the eastern side of downtown Columbus.  The two-story museum has many beautiful exhibitions and includes special programs designed for a diverse audience from children to scholars. For those with young children, the majority of the first floor is devoted to interactive children’s exhibits.

The museum contains a variety of diverse interests and styles of art. Of particular interest are the large collections of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century American and European modern art.

The Columbus Museum of Art encourages everyone to learn about art by participating in a variety of hands-on activities and guided tours. Specific dates and events can be found on their website below.
