Red, White and Boom

Red, White and Boom is Ohio’s largest 4th of July celebration. This event is usually held on July 3rd every year. The festivities start at noon with parades, street vendors, and city parks for children.  At 10 o’clock PM, the fireworks are shot from the Veteran’s Memorial in downtown Columbus. During this time, the streets of Columbus are full of people watching the show on blankets. The event is sponsored by WNCI 97.9, a popular radio station in Columbus with music that plays along with the fireworks. This is the largest event in Columbus during the year. Due to the high amount of foot traffic in the area, offsite parking is recommended, and the city buses operate for free.
